Job Description
Join one of the South West’s fastest-growing solar specialists. Simple Solar is on the lookout for an experienced, self-employed electrician to support our growing pipeline of domestic solar PV installations across Devon and Cornwall.
We’re looking for someone who’s ambitious, self-motivated, and committed to high standards—with the qualifications to match.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Electrical installation and commissioning of domestic solar PV systems
- System testing, sign-off, and certification
- Installation of inverters, isolators, generation meters, and CT clamps
- Battery storage installations
- Ensuring all installs are compliant with regulations and NICEIC/NAPIT standards
- Working closely with our surveyors and roofing teams
- Using tablets/software for certification and job reporting
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
- Own NICEIC or NAPIT registration
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Solar PV qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2399 or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence and own van/tools
- Good ICT skills (you’ll be using digital tools and platforms daily)
- Willing to travel throughout Devon & Cornwall
- Experience with solar is essential
