Job Description

Join one of the South West’s fastest-growing solar specialists. Simple Solar is on the lookout for an experienced, self-employed electrician to support our growing pipeline of domestic solar PV installations across Devon and Cornwall.

We’re looking for someone who’s ambitious, self-motivated, and committed to high standards—with the qualifications to match.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Electrical installation and commissioning of domestic solar PV systems

  • System testing, sign-off, and certification

  • Installation of inverters, isolators, generation meters, and CT clamps

  • Battery storage installations

  • Ensuring all installs are compliant with regulations and NICEIC/NAPIT standards

  • Working closely with our surveyors and roofing teams

  • Using tablets/software for certification and job reporting

 

Essential Requirements

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent

Own NICEIC or NAPIT registration

18th Edition Wiring Regulations

Solar PV qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2399 or equivalent)

Full UK driving licence and own van/tools

Good ICT skills (you’ll be using digital tools and platforms daily)

Willing to travel throughout Devon & Cornwall

Experience with solar is essential
