DOLCOATH, PILLATON
A larger solar and battery system designed to reduce electricity bills, support free car charging, and prepare the home for a future move to a heat pump.
The brief
Dolcoath wanted to lower their energy usage and make better use of solar power at home. Free car charging was a key part of the brief, alongside creating a system that would support future energy needs.
The customer was also considering a future changeover to a heat pump, so the system needed to provide strong generation and storage capacity for a more electric home.
We installed a 29-panel, 12.18kW solar PV system across three roofs, paired with 24.9kWh of battery storage to help the customer use more of their own solar energy.
The result
The system is expected to generate around 11,556kWh per year, significantly reducing electricity bills and allowing the customer to charge their car without adding extra grid costs.
With an estimated payback period of 6 years and 8 months, the Dolcoath system delivers strong financial and environmental benefits while setting the home up well for future heating upgrades.
“Simple Solar were great from start to finish, I was given plenty of options and they really listened to what I wanted. The install was done well and left tidy, and they even replaced some existing damaged slates on my roof.— Mr Williams
I was shown how to set-up the batteries and change any options as I needed. All in all I am very impressed with the whole process and can’t recommend them enough.”
Why it works
- Large solar array spread across three roofs to maximise generation.
- 24.9kWh battery storage helps the home use more solar power directly.
- The system supports EV charging and future heat pump readiness.
